Oct 10 Ontario Election: Predict the Result

I think the media also did a lousy job of informing people on the referendum issue. Too distracted by the schools issue. Just think, if the MMP system were in place with yesterday's results, we probably would have had a Liberal minority with the NDP holding the balance of power, and the...

You can actually see the tower/crane poking through the wall of highrises on Bloor E from my balcony (just east of Yonge/St. Clair.)

Is repeating somebody else's observation about repeating things as lame as just repeating things? i'm just a curious idiot.

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

You mean like flyers for the Sex & Violence Cartoon Fest? I think that'll be a very popular corner for people giving out flyers......

I don't know for sure about the street furniture contract, but I remember looking for that info at the time it was announced and not seeing anything obvious. To tie all these things together, I guess I'd just like to see the City be more aggressive with these kinds of things. Toronto is a great...

    A few downtown shots - Aug 28 2007

I heard rumours at the time the reason west tower is shorter than the east is because the project ran out of money (major recession, 1989/90, I think) and not just brilliant design. Does anybody know if that's true? Just curious.....

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

That's a good point. But could you mitigate that effect by giving it a permanent spot, maybe like a signature in the corner? We could tart it up so it fits in. And if it's part of a bigger overall advertising effort across the city (incl. street furniture) then it might look less like a...

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

I can see the Atrium's media tower and Toronto Life's both growing and possibly creeping over Yonge St to the point where it will look like one big media blitz, maybe touching over the street. Once the theatre's in, it will be a huge difference in pedestrian flow. And on the subject of ads...

MMP: How do you intend to vote?

Great article in The Star that sums pros/cons and other, and impact on minority governments. http://www.thestar.com/OntarioElection/article/264120 My two cents: it never occurred to me that by bringing more people into the political process, there will be more people who are pissed off...

What's the point of RENDERINGS section?

There was a great rendering of Toronto's future skyline (for all confirmed projects) that somebody put great effort into and posted here awhile ago.....anybody know where I can find that? tnx

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

First reaction was...awh, what happened to the curve? I liked the whole idea of the two "personalities", one facing east and one west, but the more I look at this rendering, it is definitely more elegant and the podium looks way more promising. Much as I liked the previous rendering, it kinda...

    2007 Ontario Election: MMP Referendum

That's just it, I wasn't assuming anything. I described another possible scenario to the one presented in the article. I don't have a crystal ball. If I suggested that all political parties should be part of the "government" then I apologize for being unclear. I'm advocating that more parties...

    2007 Ontario Election: MMP Referendum

^^^ This article doesn't add anything to the debate that hasn't been brought up here from various people already. Urquhart is basically saying he doesn't want certain views represented in government even though they may be broadly held in the public. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...
