    Oakville Oak & CO Condos | ?m | 25s | Cortel Group | Zeidler

Interesting. 20 stories would rank it among the tallest in Oakville.

High-Speed Rail Is Good for Business

So... has any party actually acknowledged the possibility of a high speed rail plan? I understand that balancing the budget is a bigger priority currently, but it would nice to get something, if even a 'raincheck' of sorts.

    Near Future Renders

    Brilliant work Traynor!

    Toronto Ryerson Student Learning Centre | 50.59m | 8s | Ryerson University | Zeidler

Call me crazy, but I don't like it. Maybe it just doesn't fit my tastes, but it seems overkill given the location.

Toronto Ryerson's Mattamy Athletics Centre + Loblaws at the Gardens | ?m | ?s | Ryerson University | Turner Fleischer

I just threw up a little in my mouth. I thought I read somewhere that the roof, including the maple leafs, were part of the character of the building and thus weren't allowed to be altered? Maybe I'm wrong...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Yeah, Oakville is a huge mess any time of the day, let alone during rush hour. The problem as I see it is that very few people are looking to go left on Cross. Everyone wants to turn right, towards Trafalgar.

Roads Poll: What would be your ideal Gardiner Tear Down?

Because the traffic isn't already bad enough, let's tear down the only expressway through downtown Toronto! If you beautify the existing structure in a way that will be attractive to the eye in the long-term, I'd prefer that option. The ideal solution is to bury it, but of course that costs...

    Toronto's and Province's New 12.4B Eglinton/SRT/Sheppard Plan

Can the Eglinton LRT be converted to a subway at a later date if necessary?

Toronto Ryerson's Mattamy Athletics Centre + Loblaws at the Gardens | ?m | ?s | Ryerson University | Turner Fleischer

Thanks for the pictures, although they still leave a somewhat bitter feeling in my gut, seeing the Gardens torn apart like that. Oh well... what can you do...

    Toronto Eaton Centre (Ongoing Renewal) | ?m | ?s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Can I ask, and perhaps I'm being controversial, but who gives a flying you-know-what about the handrails? It isn't like they are installing bright pink ones. The new ones compliment the roof just fine, guarantee you that 99.9% of the tourists really won't notice a difference.

Toronto Ryerson's Mattamy Athletics Centre + Loblaws at the Gardens | ?m | ?s | Ryerson University | Turner Fleischer

The exterior is the most significant part of the building? Since when? The most significant part is where the history happened: On the ice pad.

It wasn't. The original "score clock" was this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d8/Maple_Leaf_Gardens_Postcard_1931.jpg There was also a fairly large clock on the Wood Street side (IIRC) for a long time and a score clock similar to the one shown above from the Chicago Stadium...

Toronto Ryerson's Mattamy Athletics Centre + Loblaws at the Gardens | ?m | ?s | Ryerson University | Turner Fleischer

While it is still up, it is in pretty rough shape right now. Looks like they are in the process of doing something, maybe slowly stripping it down?

The stimulus funding deadline was pushed forward until October 31st. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/government-extends-deadline-for-stimulus-spending/article1822069/ So as long as it is complete by then, they should be fine.

That wasn't the same scoreboard in the building by the time it closed or if it was, it had been renovated. See: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OGB3Lxa92xQ/SwqrXEWrbYI/AAAAAAAAACI/MFG3bOr-kqQ/s1600/Fireworks+form+the+scoreboard.jpg Can anyone back this up? Because if true, that would be a complete...

    MoveOntario 2020: GO Transit Electrification

Thanks to everyone who responded. I kind of figured politics would have some role in it. It is unfortunate that they can't grow a spine and tell these people to shut it. You buy a house near the railway tracks and then complain when... get this... trains go down the tracks. It's an outrage I...

    MoveOntario 2020: GO Transit Electrification

Can someone explain to me why the Georgetown line is projected to be the first to be electrified? Because for the life of me, I can't figure out a logical reason why it should get priority over the Lakeshore lines.
