That's rather unfortunate, I love when developers find ways to incorporate old heritage buildings into there new tower. It usually comes along with a needed restoration of the heritage building and it would bring more density to University. Hopefully it eventual happens

Downtowns population has grown to a point where only 1 downtown Apple Store is constantly crowded. We need another location to help with Genius Bar appointment. Plus I personally find the stores are gorgeous, imagine flagship Apple store in the most important Canadian intersection

All i know about the owner is that it's linked to the soon to be completed Marriott in Barrie. There finishing work there and then eventually moving onto this site as there next project

I City council in July approved expanded gambling which includes more slot machines and the potential of poker, blackjack... I haven't heard of any recent news related to this expansion since July
