    that white rectangular storefront on the left in the yonge n. of bloor photo was the second toronto location of long & mcquade. a music store. the portable p.a. system was invented there by pete traynor. they moved to bloor/major sts. after leaving the yonge st.building. very cool shot goldie.

    i remember when they blew it up. it was next to the gas station, dundas/elizabeth, se corner. it was brought down early in the morning.

    the chicken man used to still use a horse drawn cart on our street [major st.] in the early sixties. door to door service. we kids would gather round to watch him dispatch chickens with his right thumbnail. that was the last of the horse drawn carts i remember in toronto.

    Great photos and Goad's map. We lived on Sullivan for many years. Along with Grange and Phoebe sts. Sullivan still has many great old homes. Is there any way to find a photo of the "Protestant Children's Home" on the north side of Sullivan, east of Huron? [#34 to approx. #20] I've found...
