Amazing that Pneumatic Tube Systems are still being used. They are installing one at the new Humber River Regional Hospital on Wilson. 1.8 million sq.ft of digital hospital.

Perhaps you should have tried the Onion Soup at Gaston's, originally on Markham Street (in the Mirvish Village), later on Baldwin known as Le Petit Gastons. He used to serve it with a pair of scissors since the cheese was so thick.

I remember it like it was yesterday. Yonge and Steeles. The car was used when he bought it in '62. The floorboards in the back were rusted out, and I used to look out the hole at the road as we drove.

Grew up on Melgund, definitely not the same street on the map. It now goes East West from Bathurst to Wells Hill. I notice that our next house on Wychwood Ave (not Wychwood Park where Adam Vaughan grew up) was originally Bracondale

Grew up not 30 seconds away on Melgund, right across from Wells Hill Park, referring of course to Lyndhurst. Believe it was a convalescent home back in the 60's

I was just going to say the same thing about Facebook Vintage Toronto, but have been too busy perusing its photos which are just as addictive as this site. Work and family unfortunately take a back seat to the pictorial history Toronto

Wasn't this also the address of Boy Scout Head Office for Ontario ( at least back in the 70's) I remember a lot of wood.
