Are the F59PH and the F59PHIs similar mechanically? If yes, I’d rather them fix up the F59PHIs as they’re sleeker looking. Found this model of one in GO livery online:
Judging by the green rear headlight it is believed to be 560I know one F59PH was seen in primer at Ontario Northland’s paint shop on September 3rd, likely indicating it was about to be repainted into the MX scheme, but I have no clue whether that was one of the rebuild units, or 560, the unit they sent up to template the other units.
Well it has lasted a solid 3 months, staying consistently in service. As of today, however, it has been replaced on its consist, ironically by cab car 249, which was out of service for the past 2 months.214 has resurfaced, it's on the tail end of an L6 currently headed by 564.
Who wants to place bets on how long until it vanishes again?
Because cab cars are subject to the same 92 day inspection schedule as locomotives.Well it has lasted a solid 3 months, staying consistently in service. As of today, however, it has been replaced on its consist...
Why do we need bike cars in the winter? For strollers?I’ve noticed ever since the November 23 service changes, it seems consists with bike cars now are being used more regularly on other services.
For instance, the 12 car Niagara weekend consists that have bike cars, and the 10 car Georgetown consists that have bike cars, both have been used on midday off peak runs in the past few days.
Is the body fiberglass?Looks to me that 865 could be one of the units GO might be restoring to full operation, as it seems they may have masked off the windows for repainting.

That's not masking.Looks to me that 865 could be one of the units GO might be restoring to full operation, as it seems they may have masked off the windows for repainting.

Only the very end of the nose of the PHIs. The rest is steel. Is the body fiberglass?
I'd be surprised if they didn't. IIRC that was an aftermarket addition to GO buses after a Coach Canada driver fatally ran over a pedestrian in Guelph.Do the new GO buses make that annoying "chirping" sound everytime the driver puts their turn signal on?
