Woodbine Mall, NEEDS a goood development!

Sounds like the idea is to show intent to restore the mall...maybe even soup it up for a profitable sale and then let it be someone else's problem.

-freedom mobile and the Bay have also invested in their stores at Woodbine. Maybe they have inside knowledge as to who the new owner may be at Woodbine, which could explain why they are trying to improve their look despite the rest of the mall dying.
-I think Woodbine can be properly redeveloped with the proper owner. The average income and population have increased in Rexdale since the early 2000s. and crime has dropped in the area. Plus there is a huge development planned at Casino Woodbine, including entertainment, soccer, gambling, and residential. The mall is also close to Humber College, the airport, highways, the Future Go Station, and Finch West LRT. There is clearly potential with the location of Woodbine, the question is will the new owner be able to pull it off?

It's not just a Cinestarz theatre coming to Woodbine Centre, it's going to be a Cinestarz "Deluxe".
Does this mean amazing seats that recline like at other Cinestarz "deluxe" theatres?

CineStarz would be a step in the right direction for the mall. The liquidation outlets need to be replaced as quickly as possible.
Hopefully, the current owner has been swapped out with a retainer by now. Someone retailers can trust again.to consider
setting up shop in the Woodbine.

Restoring the Zellers store where it once was would also be a helpful improvement. (& NOT a clearance Zellers either, lol)
Unfortunately, I honestly do not know if there is any desire to step outside of Bay stores with their Zellers ideas/plans at the moment.

Well they did technically renovate woodbine a few years ago with the most disgusting tile layout I've ever seen, not to mention the weird geometric vinyl wraps.

Design-wise, it appears that the owner was aiming for a low-budget art aesthetic. Something simple to make the Woodbine look more classy to shoppers.
The problem is, the Woodbine Centre (and Rexdale neighbourhood in general) was never known for its vibrant art scene.
The geometric vinyl wraps and floor tiles are a contrasting eyesore. One that doesn't compliment the rest of Woodbine's colour scheme in the slightest.
