Yep, with the exception of some ridings where the NDP are competitive and a few that the CPC could pick up in the absence of a decent Liberal. Otherwise, of course. Neither is healthy for democracy.

Except there gets to be a difference when the alternative is separatism as opposed to when the alternative is socialism--therefore, by default, the PLQ is an even bigger tent party, defined at its ex-cabinet edges by Lawrence Cannon and Thomas Mulcair.
I mean, if Montreal "worked" like Vancouver, electorally speaking, it'd be hard to see a BC Liberal equivalent scoring 70/80/90% of the vote in the Anglo/Allo parts of town that aren't hardcore West Island. (And Quebec Solidare is still too fringey and underdeveloped to count as a BC NDP equivalent.)

The BC Liberals though, despite 'SocRed' past and Campbell's destruction in the first term, are now pretty much a meddling, centrist Liberal party, in a old-school conservative fashion.
BC Politics is screwed up.
Oh, and yeah, Harper is more 'right wing' than Obama, he's just constrained by Canadian politics and a minority government as much as Obama is constrained by American politics and a GOP veto in the Senate, or that's what I think.

well the right extreme is fascism and we have not seen that.
More of big government socialism vs small government, free markets, no regulation system.
That is the debate in the States.
Imo more govt regulation is needed but markets should remain free.
If one goes from being poor to rich, he should not be punished for it.

Galloway now has a new target, the Canadian government. He plans to go to court over the decision.
Meanwhile Obama reaches out to Iran while Canada decides to stop funding to groups who are against recent aggression on the part of Israel by labeling it as anti-semitic.
Hell, even belief in evolution appears to be anti-Christian to some in Harper's camp. It sounds like the 'WITH US OR AGAINST US" bush school of thought is catching on here.
