It was a couple of years ago that I last went to the BCE Marché.

I agree with most of the above comments. It was overpriced and the food was mediocre to dangerous. My date spent the rest of the evening being sick. (I'm sure it was the mussels and not me :) ). The service was poor.

Don't go.

I had a very similar experience to Westend0r, where they went absolutely berserk on me for trying to leave (I was trying to get to the end of the line to let someone know we were already in). It descended into a screaming match. On the same visit, I asked for a pasta dish that I had seen someone with, and they didn't tell me that that was the last portion and left me standing there TEN MINUTES holding their absurdly heavy tray with no where to put it down, by the time I got to the table most of the people I was with had finished eating, I had no conversation with any of them, and it was expensive given that I did all the work. I have not one good thing to say about this thing.

Wow, sounds like a real hit and miss venue. When I was there this past summer the food was fine and the service was great. And I got refills! It would seem that too many places have this schizo service, though. It all just depends when you show.

You can get such good authentic food elsewhere for very reasobale prices..with full service.

Marche is ok, but like most, I have my complaints. The usual tip thing but they didn't really do anything.

When its busy, waiting in line for the Rosti, and watching them cook other people's rosti slowly, before you can place your order. But if you get it with the sausages, its fantastic.

Also, if you get the rosti, and then you have to wait elsewhere for other food to cook, you food can get cold.

I find it quite cheap though at lunch compared to other restaurants of similar reputation.

Ate at the Mövenpick Marché atop Victoria Peak in Hong Kong back in 2001. Excellent experience with great view, etc, but same old bland food, do it yourself serving that we have in Canada. Thumbs down.
