What to do with the Holy Land?

Actually it would be more like:
"Some guy who just moved from Russia are beating up the locals, claiming this land is rightfully his"

"Nuke it from orbit. Its the only way to be sure."

or mass brainwash everyone into believing there is no such thing as "insert favourite deity name here"

The middle east needs a few things.

The Kurds need their own country. IT would be great if they get that from the lands where they are the majority. They really need that. Enough is enough with the imperial turkish remains, just end that tyranny.
With kurdistan being created, it would be necessary to end Iraq. The country should never have been built and can not work without a dictator at its helm. That's why the british created this artificial entity, that it would fail on purpose.

Israel is a hopeless disaster because the claims of the groups overlap too much. They'll never live in peace. The status quo of appartheid is perhaps the best thing that one can hope for. Not one side wants to give up anything - they all want it all.
The most important thing here is to not have any mercy for israel, because the only reason why the state functions as it does is because of continual persecution of the muslims and the continual displacement of them with new jewish settlers from around the world. How many jewish colonies are in the west bank... there's hunderds of thousands of these colonizers there. Not to mention how many are on places assigned to the palestinians in the 1947 or 1948 deal - as if anyone cared about that. Israel if it can will continue their appartheid and try to finish cleansing jerusalem of the palestinians. That's the goal. Perhaps the entire country if possible. That is the big challenge that is going on over there. Most of Jordan's population is refugees from israel... so what can one do here? The Jews are not gonna let them come back ever. They are not gonna be happy driven out of their homeland. It's all or nothing that both sides want.

Why would they? Something like 700-800,000 Jews were forced out of Muslim countries (Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, etc.) and no one is demanding that those countries allow them back in, or provide compensation. And never mind that the Arabs who were displaced in 1948 or the Six-Day War were, for the most part, treated like crap by neighbouring Arab countries.

Nice to see that you are not one of those who says "the palestinians are recent migrants", a notorious zionist propaganda lie.

But to answer to you, here...

Like most Arab League states, Iraq initially forbade the emigration of its Jews after the 1948 war on the grounds that allowing them to go to Israel would strengthen that state. However, by 1949 Jews were escaping Iraq at about a rate of 1,000 a month (Simon, Reguer, and Laskier, p 365).

So as we can see migration was voluntary, as these jews wanted to help the this new "project" of creating a jewish homeland on top of what was mostly arab land.
The zionists were encouraging jews to come to israel. The same can not be said with the displacement of palestinians.

Now hey, it is clearly obvious that it is not right to just go in and steal someone's land. Well, that is what has been happening. The big problem is that Israel does not want to recognize this. They feel that they have the god given right to displace the muslims - I bet they call them sand niggers, 'cause they their treatment of them is comparable to the treatment of animals, not human beings.

I gotta admit I was astonished at the silence on UT re: that flotilla incident. UT used to have a very active politics section, what's happening? (Or is it all moving to facebook? It was interesting to see the over reaction on both sides of the fence to that media event. What it ultimately came down to: Disgustingly racist behaviour from both sides.)

People no longer care. It has become the norm to expect such stuff. Why bother going through the b.s. all over?

Facebook is lame for discussions.

The Flotilla folks want to take Israel to the International Court of Justice. Good on them.

A lot of nations achieved their present borders pursuing idiosyncratic " manifest destiny " notions of one form or another. What is singular about Israel, is that this nation is doing right now, and with the tacit support of western " democracies ", like the US and Canada.
