Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

It will work as we saw one in Phoenix last year that had gates for traffic and pedestrians. The trams only ran every 15 minutes.

Saw one in Europe back in 2012 as well.

Down under have a few also.

I would complain about them taking a long time to finally do this, but I don't blame them given they were able to cash in on grants to make it better. Stuff like the heated shelters and covered bike parking will really be necessary to make this an improved/parallel experience to the usual custom of people waiting inside the Davis Centre for GO buses, and to pull them out across the tracks from the UW campus.

You should likely blame COVID, foundation work, and concrete curing times.

That being said, most of the work should have been done years ago.

1. The obligatory "That bus terminal is too damn small"
2. How are people supposed to get to the SB iON trains?
3. How are people supposed to get to the North GO Platform?
4. Shops? Seriously, none?

You read my mind! Was going to write some questions. haha
It doesn't seem like there is a crosswalk for the SB iON platforms which makes the walk to it longer than people would find acceptable. I see many people jaywalking as soon as they get down the stairs. It would be cool if they added a small pedestrian bridge over the road and down to the platform.

The SB Ion will be accessible by a bridge to be built alongside the rail overpass. The north platform will be accessible through a tunnel at Waterloo Street.
