TTC: Streetcar Network

The loop and intersection will be rebuilt. Neville Park Loop and Bingham Loop were recently rebuilt.

Here's a map from 1926. A lot simpler now that road/streetcar bridge over the old CN tracks is gone.

what are you talking about? there isn't a dedicated left turn lane (which they probably should have tried to accommodate as the queues for left turns today delay the 504 pretty significantly), but it's pretty clear you will still be able to turn left from King onto the Queensway.

It's probably a cycle lane, albeit detail on the map is so vague as to lend itself to guesses. It's the width of a car lane. (the left hooked arrow centre of pic). That left, needless to say, is on the Queensway to turn left up Roncy. The more I look at it, it has the legally required stop bar indicated on the asphalt.

How can the present tracks indicated in red not foul what's indicated for stopped vehicular traffic?

Maybe that is one reason for the couple of years delay. The design was dated 2015. Maybe they were redesigning the trackwork to include a left turn track from King Street West to The Queensway, and a right turn track from The Queensway to King Street West. Haven't seen an "updated" configuration.

Think the intersection is complicated? It was "worse" before the 1950's. Here a photo from 1923. From this link.

Well, if they have posted saying that the tender call is coming soon and that it will have a closing date of 31 January. They should thus be able to start by late spring or early summer but who knows - I bet the City are trying to see how soon they can start, if there are 'events' they want to try to avoid (or not interfere with too much) plus, plus, plus. The notice says ""completion by fall 2020". It is a very complicated project with lots of 'moving parts'.

Steve Munro been suggesting the project could start in February.

Can't see that happening if the tender close Jan 31.

You got to do a bid review to make sure apples and apples are being bid on: who is going to approve the contract and how long will that take?: getting a contract sign; Contractor start setting crews schedules up; the weather; getting signs and notices posted; but more like Mid March to April for start of construction.

I would agree. The project is very complex, between intercestion reconstruction at Roncesvalles/Queen, to detention of the ROW to Roncesvalles, to the bumpouts on Roncesvalles, lots of work to do.
