TTC: Other Items (catch all)

^They always give unnecessarily long run times for bustitutions. The same thing has happened with the 501, and 504 as well in the recent past.

The 503 is given time to divert around the intersection closure around Kingston Rd/Queen. The intersection has reopened thus all the buses will arrive 10 min earlier than usual. Until the next service change in 2 weeks, this will be a common scene.

The problem is made worst as TTC is implementing no short turn policy by adding excessive time to 90% of all trips so most trips will not short turn.

This has been a common scene every day since the 503/502 combined months ago. Even during that short diversion in the East End the buses would sit at York for sometimes 30 minutes at all times of the day the route operates. The schedule was clearly given an enormous amount of padding that was not ever needed. There has already been multiple new schedule periods where this could be changed and it wasn't.

Unusually thin agenda; RGS should be coming to the December meeting.

Maybe they can play catch-up with some items that were placed on the back-burner. Such as The Queensway right-of-way construction between Parkside Drive and Roncesvalles? That one has been deferred and deferred and deferred for many years now.

I stop going to TTC meeting over 2 years ago since most meetings had no meat on the bone and over under 2 hours and this is one of those meetings.

TTC is deferring the Roncesvalles/Queensway work, because the city is calling the shots and the city doesn't have all the ducks line up as well funds. Work is still on courses to happen in 2020. TTC is a sub trade to the city most of the time these days. Only when track work is being done, TTC is still a sub trade, since the city hires the contractor in the first place.

Doing everything in one shot time frame came about from the mess that took place on St Clair. It better doing everything at once than doing 2-5 projects at different time that is disrupting the lives of everyone when they take place.

The budget meeting in Dec will the meeting to go to and maybe the Dec normal meeting. The Dec meeting should be setting the table for the budget meeting.

The ads for Vype e-cig all over Union TTC station will be removed on November 17.

Good for the TTC. Vaping ads are becoming too pervasive, especially given that over ten percent of TTC users are legally minors (and they are constantly bombarded by vaping ads (and some of these ads look very attractive to minors, including the advertising of fruit- and candy-flavoured vaping liquids); convenience stores keep advertising Juul e-cigs; though come January 1, 2020, vaping ads easily accessible to minors will be prohibited). I don't vape, but I do respect the right for those 19 and over to vape only in places smoking is permitted.

NextBus is currently experiencing technical issues with their GPS system. Therefore projected arrival times may be impacted. Technicians are working to resolve the issue.

"Please note that three priority seats located at the back of TTC low-floor streetcars are being temporarily removed as the back cars experience more tail movement, which may pose a safety concern for those who require priority seating. We encourage customers seeking priority seating to use the seats located at the front of these vehicles. "

My favourite seat is the one at the back facing rear right behind the 4th door. It's nice and wide. Too narrow to be two seats, so it's just a nice fat seat.

I call it the "Rob Ford" seat. Course, he never used it.

Are they simply changing them to normal "red seats" or do they actually mean they will be physically removed and left as open space for people to stand? Also why would it be "temporary?" How and when exactly would they fix the root of the problem such that they could return it back to how it is now?
