TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I thought the very reason the streetcar ROWs had a solid surface was for buses, service vehicles and EMS.

Otherwise, we should have built them like this to safe on cost, improve drainage and to disuade private vehicle incursions.

Even on Spadina, they don't allow buses to run like that anymore. Buses passing each other can easily take out each other's mirrors. You can pretty much see that the mirror is over the yellow line.

Looks like 4407 on that flat car and it was loaded on June 07, 2019 at Hillcrest. Now is that car going to Kingston first or will go to Hillcrest???

4406 Hasn't been seen in the last 2 days that arrived Dec 19. 4405 was last seen 2 hours ago that arrived February 3, 2020.

4601 was out testing last night and sitting on the service track in the yard since then that arrived January 21, 2019.

4603 in the service bay and has the best chance to enter service before the other 3 cars that arrived January 24, 2019.

4603 is likely to be in service tomorrow. The other two are in a dead storage track
Yep!!...................Something('s) are up for 4601 and 4406, especially 4406. With 4601 doing testing a few days ago gave me the impression it wasn't going to enter service this weekend like I expected it to do as well 4406. Was expecting to see 4603 in service before 4601.

Based on the current turn around for fixing the welds, is TTC prepare to ship more cars to Quebec as well the selling of BBD rail division??? It would be interesting to know what Kingston is supposed to be doing to the cars from Quebec that it requiring 45 day plus more work at the Barns before reentering service compare to the 12-15 days for new cars from Thunder Bay.

Still missing 4404, 4408 and 4407. We know 4407 is in transit to X, but where are the other 2 cars?? 4404 was loaded October 29, 2018 and 4408 was loaded June 28, 2019.

4603 is westbound King St has enter service as a 310 after arriving January 24, 2019. Will become an 510 (kg510) once on Spadina

And if no other cars have gone out for re-weld yet it's just going to take that much longer to finish. These cars will be ready for retirement by the time they're done and 4401 will enter service for the first time as a 7 year old car this year.

June 17, 2013 was the day 4401 was off loaded as a prototype that was supposed to arrived in 2012 along with 4400 and 4402.

I don't expect to see 4401 as a production car until around June 2020.

Not the first time a later delivery car has gone into service before an earlier one, but 4601 will be the last one to do it. At the rate 4601 was burning up the track, was expecting it to be in service around Feb 4th.

4405 is out doing its first day of testing after arriving February 3, 2020

Was 4471 one of the units returned for welding? Or was this photo taken in the past? Tweeted today here.

It was one of two cars that were flooded at the King St. W./Atlantic Ave. underpass. The cars were cleaned at a Bombardier facility in upstate New York, and then sent back to Thunder Bay for additional rework.

It and 4478 were damaged last year. However we still haven't heard any news since then, so it's likely they are TB right now
They were shipped to Thunder Bay late last year after been shipped from NY. Looks like TTC may see 4471 this month and 4478 in March. That leaves 4401.

4601 hasn't moved in over a week from the spot on the service track and that not good since its arrival January 21, 2019. 4406 has been moved to the service bay late last week that was behind 4601 on the service track and still in the service bay. Been here since December 19, 2019.

4405 went out last night for test for the 3rd time and the first 2 been short testing time frame. No idea if 4405 was out all night, but in the service bay.

Alstom Buys Bombardier Transportation for Seven Billion Euros (US$7 Billion - CDN$10 Billion)

See link.

As previously announced first on Fliegerfaust, February 6, 2020, Bombardier is entirely selling its Transportation division to Alstom, as written in this article by Sylvain Faust ----->: https://www.fliegerfaust.com/bombardier--2645048156.html

The entire Bombardier railway business is to be in the hands of the French. The deal is scheduled to be officially made on Thursday.

Düsseldorf According to information from industrial circles, the French railway technology manufacturer Alstom buys the entire railway business from Bombardier . The transaction is expected to be announced on Thursday morning.

Alstom will take over the worldwide railway business of the Canadians, whose headquarters are in Berlin, for seven billion euros.

This creates a new large railway technology group with a turnover of around 15 billion euros. Alstom had failed just a year ago due to concerns from the European Competition Commission trying to merge with Siemens Mobility...

I think that means the light rail vehicles for the Finch West LRT and Crosstown LRT will be made by the same company.

It should be noted that Fliegerfaust is a blog written by one person, and while he seems to be reasonably well connected that his speculation has been wrong before.

On the other hand, this is not speculation: https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/bombardier-financial-results-airbus-c-series-1.5462182
