Tramsit City - Construction Updates only

Due to the big disagreements on the projects, and seeing other peoples ideas... I felt that we really need a topic that just states what is currently being done. Perhaps a photo or two might not hurt either. This is basically a news depository topic, imo. We can discuss the pros and cons elsewhere.

The only place right now with any construction is the Sheppard Tram Line. Hopefully we can get some pictures and a news article or two about that. Maybe other routes too as they/if they move forward.

How about a rule that project threads are for discussion of the approved project only and fantasy projects, general BRT vs LRT etc debates are not allowed (unless relevant eg Eglinton some are still calling for grade separation for a certain section in the media). We did that for SSP Ottawa as certain posters kept pushing a bus tunnel long after the project was approved and moving forward. Personally I was against Sheppard but now that it's approved and construction is starting soon, these debates are increasingly getting annoying.

Perhaps the 'Tramsit' was intentional. Considering his reference to the Sheppard 'tram' line, maybe he is proposing another Transit City moniker, a la 'Transit Shitty' or 'Transfer City'

I thought it was pretty clear that the post was deliberate, given all the derogatory comments he has been making on various threads about "tram-city" and "tram-transit".

I think a mod needs to wipe this thread ... and either start dealing with the OT topics on the current threads about the lines under construction; or create some kind of update only thread.

Agreed. This thread was set up for construction updates only, and the creator states that he does not any other discussion such as the pros and cons. And yet, he still got his shot in. Wipe the thread, or change the name to the proper terminology.
