Toronto's AIC + Other Municipal Development Application Portals (UX/UI/APIs & Opendata)

By reload do you mean the webpage or just the application - for me it never works from 9-5.

I meant just hit refresh on the page in your browser.

I don't find it quite that troublesome, normally.

It's odd - I've eliminated cookies - switched browsers - nothing seems to work. I'd say it works 10% of the time I try and access it during the day.

Unfortunately I don't think I've ever used a good "planning data" system - but the Toronto one is particularly bad. Hard to find addresses or applications if you don't know the correct reference. We've got gigabit internet here at home, and documents take an age to download!

You have to wonder if the user-unfriendliness is by design.

Oh, to bump a thread such as this...

I'm attempting to actually use the new AIC portal for the first time ever, and can't even follow links posted on UT without just being redirected to the landing page/map. That would be fine, if every single project I've searched for actually showed up- am I doing something wrong? Or is this stuff all scrubbed periodically?

...And is there not just a GIS portal where I can look at all development applications? I could've sworn there used to be...

Closed and outdated links do happen.

In general, if your links are pre-2020, there is a good chance the link posted doesn't work; if they are for a project with a closed folder, its 50/50, the files are often still there, but the link often breaks.

Also the current iteration of the AIC is atrocious, much worse than it used to be.

1) If you want to look for new link, you can go here:

Click on 'Refine Search'

Put in the Community Council Area

and Community Planning ( or C of A if applicable)

Hit search.

You can add additional info to narrow things down, including the application number, if you don't know the AICs quirks, I'd try to avoid that.

You'll get a map with pins, zoom in, find your pin, and you'll find the link.

*****

If that doesn't work, post a request in the thread for an up to date link, someone should be able to help.

This is greatly appreciated, I'll give it a shot. Will pull forward stuff (from this thread) if I can't find anything. I was having issues with some of the 'plexes posted on the first few pages, which are only from 2023, so I'll fiddle with the AIC a bit more. Thanks!
