ye olde bait and switch

On Tulip trees as street trees, in Toronto, in pits, next to hirise. In a word, "No"

Individual specimens will vary, but the likihood of survival here is low, for the reasons stated above, but also one other.

These trees are the very limit of their northern range (cold hardiness) in Toronto. In order to do well here, they not only need good general planting conditions, they need 'shelter' from high wind.

Trees feel wind chill too would be the colloquial way to put it.

If this were a midrise, and wind conditions lower and planting conditions better..........maybe........but this is unlikely to work.

We, as a community, got nailed by the developers.

Agreed.

There are some large issues w/this one, but what strikes me is the places they VE'd that saved a comparatively small amount but would have given so much back.

The massive swath of blank wall facing the parkette to the south is really disappointing and insulting.
Keeping that wall open as a colonnade like in the rendering would have made it much more pleasant from both sides, and you would think it wouldn‘t cost much more to do (probably be less due to less materials).
The entrance is now rather anonymous and easy to miss — not a wise place to cut corners and really unfortunate here.

@kotsy

Good thing about your creative watermarks.

They managed to catch the person behind the Instagram handle of Lifetime_dev off-guard! Whoever is in charge of Lifetime's social media accounts really needs to look much more carefully before stealing photos from UT. Either they need to credit you or you go the legal route to get due compensation. In any way, there is a good chance Lifetime would either suspend the person in charge of social media or dismiss him/her for good.

Please continue on with your creative watermarks! I enjoy searching for them in your photos.

There absolutely is not. Good on @Rabd for catching this. @kotsy's incredible watermark game pays dividends!
