This neighbourhood looks great. Every building has some distinct architectural features, and there's good landscaping in the public realm. Most of these buildings give you something to look at besides what people are keeping on their balconies. There's continuous parkland by the water's edge, which is what we should have achieved downtown since the 1970s.
The buildings could still be improved with better materials--particularly for the podiums. This complex seems to be leading the way with real brick and quality glass for the podium. Its huge retail component with a grocery store will be great for the neighbourhood.

Looks like they won't be needing the main construction crane for installation of "handle" element on Westlake. Nice shots!

Has the handle element been VE'd out of the design?
I do not believe it has, it has just not been erected yet. I suspect it will be a metal frame underneath, clad with the same silver metal striping running up either side of the building currently.
