We should figure out who the tenant is and convince them to demand a better design lol.. I dont know what more could we possibly do?

Exactly; this is going to depend on tenanting. Let's hope a boundary-pushing visionary firm signs for half the space. (Anyone know any?!)

As we move forward with the development of the East Bayfront community, you’ll continue to see construction hoarding throughout the precinct. As of today, you will also see some fencing around the grassy mound located at Lower Jarvis and Queens Quay East.

As you may already know, this mound isn’t formally part of the park. This is the location of the future Waterfront Innovation Centre, a high-tech office building. The fence is an administrative requirement now that the Province has officially given us permission to use this property as planned. Until we start construction on the new building, this area needs to stay fenced. While this property is zoned for commercial use, we know that it’s seen as an informal part of Sugar Beach, so we’re sorry that we now have to fence it off. But we are excited to take the next step in this area’s transformation into a complete neighbourhood, with a healthy mix of retail, office, residential and cultural spaces.

Please circulate this information to your networks to help keep them informed. If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to follow up with us.

Kind regards,

Waterfront Toronto
