Not sure if the rehabilitation of the Wallace Ave Overpass was part of the original plan or not, but its about to loose the stairs for the east side because of the condos.

New steel framing is going up to take the stair to the north and then back under the walkway. It mean a further walking distance to use the overpass or get to the street.

Existing bridge

A mid level platform to have the stairs from the street attach to it and then to the next platform. The stairs are then to go up to new upper level platform that will connect to the current one where the existing stairs are now. New handrail will go where the stair are once they are removed.

This shows the new upper platform that will connect to the existing walkway and where the stairs will go down to the north platform on an angle??

I can't see how this addition is going to look any good, even with a fresh coat of paint it won't match the existing trusses at all.

I believe the changes are due to a new access road for the commercial building next to the railpath. The changes will include improvements to the Wallace Avenue plaza:

Hi Are you owner of Wallace Walk? It has been 12 months and extends to another 10 months.

I'm not, but I am interested in entire Junction Triangle area for investment purposes, as I feel it is still under the radar.

Pretty disappointed they're ruining the wallace footbridge. It's an iconic landmark in the area. It will not look the same with this new staircase.

I don't mind the black brick...although I do think we have seen too much of it in this city, but the fake wood/laminate door surrounds really don't feel good or look good in person. Shame.

Took a stroll through this afternoon, and this development has contributed quite nicely to the area's urban fabric. It completes the streetscape along Wallace, and blends well with the older developments to its south. There was a good vibe and energy in the air. Lots of activity with people moving in new furniture and such. A fair amount of new tenants appear to be young families with children and parents pushing baby strollers. On a separate note, the retail scene north of here along Dupont west of Symington has seen a tremendous boost in recent years. Many good looking new places have opened up worth checking out.

This is quite a transformation to this section of the railpath. I'm really looking forward to the fencing coming down, and seeing what the landscaping will look like between the trail and the buildings.

This burgeoning neighbourhood will also benefit greatly from the southward expansion of the West TO Railpath - if you're a cycling type, you'll have a straight shot right from your front door right down to Liberty Village, etc.
