It really is bizarre. Why are bollards OK for the East Moat but not in front of the station where they invested in expensive and imported concrete blocks and why are pretty decent stainless steel bollards OK in front of the new Courthouse but not at Unit?

Prime example of why this city doesnt make any sense whatsoever. So they can commission something that looks competent here, but right in front of the station (notwithstanding the fact they have to deal with the subway tunnel and concourse) they come up with rubbish concrete blocks?

This city really is baffling.

From my understanding from previous posts in this thread, there is very little clearance below Front St. to the Union Station mezzanine to allow for proper bollard installation, hence the much shallower blocks. And that's why bollard are on Bay St, they have better clearance below ground.

There’s no subway station 50cm under the Courthouse.

Yes while this is true, the city had better options they couldve gone with. But they chose abomination.

These are the shallow installation bollards. They're also being installed on the central portion of Front Street.

If they have a shallow solution, I don't get why they thought they had to install those ugly concrete blocks instead of just these bollards throughout.

I just hope the bollards get installed on the sides along Bay and York because benches there will be disastrous congestion for pedestrian crowds. I'd say even worse than the jersey barriers because those are visible and also funnel people instead of sitting at shin level completely in the way of people walking.

It's a coyote pelt.

Why:
  • The fur is a grizzled gray-tan with black-tipped guard hairs running in a dark stripe down the back—classic coyote coloring.
  • The forelegs are long and narrow (you can see them hanging near the shoulders), matching a medium canid rather than the short, stout limbs of a raccoon.

York St Promenade: The security office window is closed -- is the office moved or behind the hoarding...?
Front St Promenade: New [to me] exhibit of dresses in the art vitrine {by the former Leather Store Bypass;~}
Bay St Promenade: Uniqlo! NB: I guess Metrolinx only considered the upper level waiting area as the Bay Concourse...?
Bay St Moat/TTC interchange: No sign of folks hanging out there.
Union Market E-W corridor: All shops on north side appear occupied
West Wing: I understand the Ontario/Toronto tourism info office will close December 1. It has long had [surprisingly, to me] low traffic.
East Wing: Have y'all seen the paper sculptures in the north side vitrine, related to Blue Bovine? There is exterior scaffolding by the exit; what's up? BTW: what exactly is the story with the bull sculpture outisde?
Great Hall: What is the best guesstimate of when work will start on the floor and on the lighting, thereby triggering the removal of the central desk/info booth/clock structure? What is the most recent rendition of how the space will appear once completed? What are the chances they still hope to use the Hall as an event space? Where should Travellers Aid be located to provide maximum assistance to visitors?
Below the VIA Concourse bridge: I usually snap the CN Tower from the opposite perspective but today I caught a glimpse of the new tower:
