Good to know those pics posted by the city are almost immediately after the closing. On another note - don't gave any pics (will try to do a walk by tomorrow) - but it would appear they have gutted the area around the original entrance off Bay Street and stripped the exterior to the steel columns.

What if Union Station had its own reflecting pool?

It could be done instead of the food market in the same location. Anywhere else and you would have massive pedestrian congestion and probably more than a few wet feet.
 
Their logic, if any, is certainly escaping me regarding Bay being kept open and the moat closed...

Megaton, can you walk us through opening the moat? If Bay is then closed, where do you fit the ramp? A direct, flat route to VIA and GO is not a frill in a place where people have luggage, baby carriages, mobility needs, etc. (As I have, like, obsessed on previously.)

If folks are directed along the Moat to, say, those primed-to-open doors further west, can work proceed (or even start) on the art installation along the north wall of the Moat as well as whatever renos must occur to prep the retail space along the north side of the Front St Promenade?

BTW, a lift-crane was in place Tuesday eve to repair the one Great Hall clock (facing the East Wing, and overlooking a temporary art-politik display).
Is the clock running now?

Easy, fit the ramp at any one of the half dozen odd doors into Via Arrivals or the York Concourse from the moat. It's not that complicated, don't see why you need to be walked through it.
 
And there is sufficient room for the work that remains on both sides of the Moat (under 'Macdonald Plaza')?
Kinda think they want to retain relatively easy construction access...
 
FYI: WE DON'T NEED A RAMP ANYMORE IF THE MOAT OPENS!

Look carefully next time you are in Union. The grade within the York promenade is actually grade-level with the moat. Via two sets of ramps the grade actually rises approximately 18" as your travel towards the Bay side of the promenade.
