There are, in retrospect, some amazingly hilarious responses to the first notices of and looks at the design here, from the third and fourth pages of this thread. Now with the benefit of this being 98% done (or whatever number), for your amusement I present your initial reactions

Hey now, to be fair, my comment was from a time when there were rumours of a Westbank + BIG project flying around, and my disappointment was just about finding out that this was being led by HPA and not BIG. We got our BIG project in the end, and HPA delivered here, so all is right with the world now, but it was a scary and confusing time, ok?

Future park will have a nice view of this tower. Here’s a shot from May 10 and a shot from May 11. Looks like the second crane is up to dismantle the main crane!

The balconies are the one thing really bothering me about this project. It looks like a compromise between those who wanted a sleek, thin profile for a tower, and those who wanted a balcony view toward the rest of the core. It looks like an afterthought, and almost a blight to one beautiful project.
