I really hate this citys history of people buying a plot, and then sitting on it until it's deemed too dangerous so they can demolish it or it collapses on its own..

feels like they're still doing that with the gore park south side. we're not gonna have any heritage buildings left.. all to be replaced by idea-like designs. It really is the death of craftsmanship - imo if it has to be demolish you gotta rebuild it - but I know this isn't always economically feasible - but at least keep the facade.. we lost the one kiddie-corner to the lister block on the king william side but at least we were able to keep the william thomas one.

Wonder what's gonna happen during art crawl.. this area was always used for the knick knacks..

I am confident that they can find another spot with space if need be.

I'm sure they could make use of the "Landscaped Area"

google doesn't update smaller cities quite as regularly, but Hamilton is due for some updated 3D for sure. I imagine it'll happen soonish. Current 3D imagery is from 2018.

For comparison, Toronto is 2021.

Hmm I wonder why they didn't angle those podiums to follow the slant on the south side

I do like the little nod to the original tivoli facade building on the left side.. although I think the podium on the right is boring in comparison. That part does confuse me, esp the sorta theatre entrance with the wicked musical promo - is there going to be a theatre rebuilt in this area?

what is going between the two buildings? Parking? That's gonna be a busy street to pull off from.. I don' think the little triangular area is a good enough area for the art crawl - too close to the street..

I do like the beveled corners though, and the blue bridge in the middle is interesting

If you're talking about the landscaped area, that's city owned land from when the road didn't curve before to meet up with York.

SuperCrawl will just set up the local artist area somewhere else, not really an issue.

for the angle i was talking more about how each podium is square set against a plot of land that angles down to the right so you're gonna have these tiny little triangle beside each building - why didnt they just angle the podium to go right up to the property line?

I could be wrong, but I believe the podium does angle. The squares shown in orange are the actual towers.
