Yeah...it gives an unfinished look. Which is a different vibe from a Brutalist look...as that doesn't make it feel like we're awaiting upon contractors to come and complete it.
True, it's not an acceptable choice of material in this case, whereas it's utilized beautifully in the structural expressionist elements of the interiors of Ace Hotel.

I wouldn't be suprised if the developer/leasing brokerage will try to market the concrete columns off as having an "edgy" "loft aesthetic" ; unlike those stuffy old boomers in Bay Adelaide Centre and FPC with their marble and chrome clad columns.

Something needs to be there other than straight-up exposed concrete, IMO...it's a lobby to an office building, not an underground parking lot. >.<

January 1, 2023.

Celebrating the Sixth Anniversary of The Well consortium effectively gaining vacant possession of The Well site on January 1, 2017. While there was some indication of possible straggling tenet activity on the site during the first weeks of January 2017, all evidence any tenant activity was gone by mid-month. The long process of clearing the remaining buildings on the site (including the prerequisite decontamination of the Globe & Mail press building) was about to start. This year, the seventh year of construction, should hopefully see most, if not all, the remaining construction activities completed, and the concourse retail areas opened to the public.

Happy New Year, and best wishes to all for a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous year in 2023.
