It is the derrick which was installed to remove the tower crane - it is still there, even though the tower crane came down quite a while ago. The last I looked, the external construction hoist was still there, so the derrick may be being kept around for removal of the external hoist - either that or there is something else that has not arrived that will require the derrick.
 
Wednesday, July 6: And the external construction hoist is now in the process of being taken down - the platforms between the hoist and the building are currently being removed - are now gone from the floors five levels above the cage and up.

I just want to add a picture from July 5th from a very similar angle but a bit further back.
Thought this unit would have to say goodbye to CN Tower views for good, but guess we’ll always have the tip.
