Today, there was a lot of noise from a vac truck working the sidewalk area on Yonge St. Also, they placed the forms up to hold up level 60. Level 59 seems to be back to the standard floor plan:

Photos taken today, Friday (June 14). Work continues at levels 59 and 60 at the top, and since last week, the blue corner forms have gone up a level (52?) as floors are poured around the new set of hangers on levels 51 to 56. The black Rail Climbing Systems (RCSs) continue their ascent: last Friday, the east, north and west RCSs were all at level 29. This week, they are all at level 30, with glass already partly installed on level 31 on the south side.

After my Flickr "time-lapse" album update, views from the south where the highest visible level of installed glass is, and where the look of the building becomes more apparent all the time, then views from in front of Holt Renfrew on Bloor west of Balmuto. Cumberland, east of Bay shots, then Bloor just east of Yonge, and Bloor west at Bedford.

Here’s another note mentioned in the Tribunal Decision:

That as part of what is to be secured in the amending Section 37 Agreement, the Owner will amend its partnership with Artscape Atelier to turn one of the units on or above the 79th floor or an alternative location if satisfactory to the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning, into a gallery space where Artscape Atelier will invite the public to exhibitions showcasing the work of the resident artists, and to allow the public to enjoy the extraordinary views available from this exceptionally tall building, with details to be secured in the amending Section 37 Agreement to the satisfaction of the Owner and the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning. City Council further authorized the City Solicitor to take all necessary actions to implement City Council’s decision.

Yes, this means that another condition for the increased height of The One is that one of the units on or above the 79th floor must be dedicated to a publicly accessible art gallery featuring artwork from The One residents and be used as a public observation deck.

It would be great if there were a retailer that sells digital art equipment on the first floor, even if it’s not the Apple Store. It could be Vistek, it could even be B&H Photo’s Canadian location!

I know the term “public” could be interpreted in many ways and may not mean general availability but how is that even practically possible without dedicating a private elevator for such purposes?

Respectfully, I think Mr. Au would help his cause just by settling on one descriptor rather than two. Me, I just see it as Yonge and Bloor, as I always have.

For those that this seems to matter...golden/champagne corner is likely in reference to the materials being used on The One. It's not an official declaration of anything, recent, post colonial or otherwise, and as I am aware. As it also more accurately describing the south/west corner said tower is being constructed on, and not indicative of the entire intersection respectively. I personally think it's a charming nickname...other's may beg to differ here. /shrug

It's being delayed by another 2 years... "The One is now expected to complete construction in the second half of 2027." Won't be surprised if SkyTower manages to cross the finish line before this

I call it the Golden Corner because it is where I can make a golden shot of The One in all its glory. I acknowledge that some people call it the Champagne Corner as it is indeed a corner of champions. I also acknowledge that some people simply call it Northeast Corner of Yonge and Bloor as it is kitty-corner to The One.
