Through fog, haze, and thousands of midges, from Colonel Samuel Smith park, today:

I've always wondered why from the south elevation, One Bloor East's proportions appear well-balanced, with a pleasing height-to-width ratio that emphasizes its slender and elegant profile, while from oblique viewing angles, the building appears chubby. The One does look slender from all angels. Does anyone know what the aspect ratio is for the One? Would it classify as a pencil tower?

From a distance I'm not really seeing the "champagne" only up close do I see it. It's much more subtle than I was expecting compared to early renders. Not sure how I feel about that.

From today. Some sort of piping work going on under the Yonge St sidewalk.

I hadn't realized this before, but at the top of each suspended mega-section (at the mechanical floor slab),
there are projecting corners created by the beveled cornice that appears nowhere else on the facade.
None of the hanger cladding panels project past the curtain wall at the tip of the corners.

You're right. I didn't notice that before either. Good catch!
