Just stumbled upon this thread and didn't know there was this much action happening on Dufferin Street. Has this development ever been for sale or will it be fully finished before purchasing opportunities?

These buildings are actually all rentals and not condos for sale.

I didn’t know that! Explains why construction has been so speedy across all three buildings. Compared to something like Bianca which has been under construction for roughly the same amount of time, this has quite literally flown up.

There's also other slower moving rental buildings as well though. RioCan's Litho project on Dupont has taken a while and seems to still be hanging around the first and second storey.

Both Litho and the Brixton were at a similar point back in March/April 2019, but Brixton has definitely moved at a much faster rate since then.

Seems like they've scrapped the beige/yellow and red/orange brick shown in the renderings, and are going with grey instead. The brick actually looks to be quite decent so far, it's just the window wall that remains subpar.

The width and expanse of the spandrel panels are definitely overwhelming. They've even doubled up on the spandrel alignment on many of the sections. I don't think that the brick formations, which are actually pretty decent quality, will be able to salvage and dilute the heavy concentration of grey spandrel being used as it's just so undeniably in your face.

The brick choice here isn’t doing them any favours either. Not enough contrast or colour to register as brick unless you’re up close.

It's called 'The Brixton'. Naming the building after a working class neighbourhood best known for race riots 'rock bottom, bargain basement' was what we were always going to get. They let us know right from the get-go that it was going to suck. Perhaps next door they'll build the 'Bedford-Stuyvesant' tower.
