I'd give it props should it use 1982-style brown and orange bricks, but I know they won't use real bricks, and if they do it'll be done crappily like all other masonry these days.

From my understanding the bricks are brought in from Alberta. They have the true brick samples in the presentation centre, and I have to tell you they look great, not like that Brampton brick crap.

This site has been sold to a new owner. No word yet, as far as I know, of any proposal for a new building coming forward.

I agree, the previous proposal was a lot more interesting. The one we're getting is pretty average, but I've seen worse. The massing along the Danforth looks about right, and retail is always good.
