Hah, alright. Whatever. That's fine--I'm not sure it's saying much. Though let's not forget this sweet structure:

I think this development easily beats out Waterclub Condos, or whatever they're called. The massing here alone is perfect for the waterfront.

Nice. Things are filling in nicely down there.

Funny how York is gradually becoming one of the more attractive ways of approaching the city on foot from the waterfront. I would never have predicted that ten years ago.
 
Yeah, I know. I've thought that too. Also notice the foot traffic there. It obviously has something to do with the Raptors game. But still, the area has become really animated in just the last five or so years.
 
I've lived around here since 2007 when it was still relatively quiet. As the area became busier, Bremner and York specifically, I started getting a vibe that reminded me of the area outside of Maple Leaf Gardens back in its heyday. Very lively with all sorts of sports fans and whatnot on any given evening. I think that if they add more retail that isn't quick-service-restaurants such as clothing stores, the place could become a key focal point in the city even more so than it is today. That is, Bremner/York could be like Carlton/Yonge, I think.
 
Yeah, I'd definitely say it could. Once the office tower on the Ice lot goes up we'll see even more people regularly milling about, and the retail/restaurant scene should continue to develop and improve. With the three condo towers going up to the direct south etc., this part of the city won't feel like it's just developing anymore. In fact, I'd say Southcore feels pretty complete as it is. It no longer feels new and empty.
 
I love Bremner and York, it's so new but it actually feels like it's part of the city. When people visit from out of town I always walk past here to the waterfront. It's one of the areas that really screams "big city" and the fact that you can see the CN tower and ACC in the same instance is pretty cool. Wide sidewalks, tall buildings, and good materials all come together nicely here.
