The tower is alright, but that podium is hideous. Just have the tower end at grade - nice and clean, like the tower is literally growing out of the ground.

towers that hit the ground create wind tunnel conditions on the ground level that adversely impact the pedestrian environment, whereas a building podium would help to deflect winds hitting the face of the tower and redirecting it away from the ground level

So there is four major plots of land in that area:
1) 45 bay - SITQ
2) 90 Harbour - Build Toronto
3) 120 Habour - could easily support several towers
4) Water Park Place 3

Would be nice to see most of these reserved for office space.

the Toronto Star/ Post Office Parking lot is also owned by Pinnacle, not sure though.

Could be more towers coming there when Pinnacle finishes up with tower 4 here.
 
I hope they do something really dramatic with that triangular site. We've got a great precedent for flatiron buildings in the city, but something conservative could also be proposed that minimizes the effect of the unusual plot of land. Build Toronto should contribute some great architecture to the city.

Looks like there is some action going on with this lot.

Build Toronto has closed bids for two other properties – one at 120 Harbour St., a couple of blocks up from the water; the other in the city’s west end near the Islington subway station. Both are destined for largely residential developments.

The location's pros and cons:
Pros
- South facing units higher than Water Club Towers would have unblocked views
- West facing units higher than the Gardiner Expressway would have unblocked views
- Nice render (unique shape)
- Unique location

Cons
- North facing units will be blocked by ICE condos up to 55/65 floor
- East facing units will be blocked by the development at 90 Harbour
- Traffic noise due to proximity to the expressway
- More dust?

It would be great if the PATH can be extended to this development from ICE Condo and eventually to Queens Quay. Due to the location of expressway and Lake Shore Blvd, this site is a dead zone by itself.
 
Seeing how successful M.L. Square Condos-1+-2 and Ice-1+2 have been " its a no brainer " if Lanterra hasnt already made a pitch or even purchased this land to the very south (90-120 Harbour Street) to build future phases.
