Well, it is getting closer to grade level.

Great shots! Kind of freaks me out when I'm driving past on the Gardiner, like yesterday, and suddenly the boom swings over the highway (which I didn't think was allowed) carrying a few tons of rebar and wood forms. Caught me off guard, scared the heck out of me. I swear once this, along with the development directly across the street, is complete, when driving towards it east bound, it will be a claustrophobic nightmare. Because the road bends right at that point, it feels as though you're going to drive right into it. I suppose, like anything else, we'll get use to it, but I had a friend in then car yesterday, she's horribly claustrophobic, and had herself a minor panic attack, and was totally freaked out by it. I know it's a stupid question, but I wonder if the engineers and developers took all this into consideration when designing these awesome towers? Anyone agree, or have creative input to put a positive spin on this one issue (that aside, I can't wait to see all four towers side by side, completed, will make one hell of a first impression to first time visitors driving into our city.

I'm just wondering, are there any other highways in the world where you drive right through towers so close together, like the Gardiner? I've been on a few, like the west side of Manhattan but it wasn't as dramatic as the Gardiner. Sydney also has a highway that goes through a few taller buildings but again, it's not nearly as close as the Gardiner. (or as dramatic)

Maybe the Hanshin Expressway from Osaka. In any case, I will be looking forward to this building. Driving on the Gardiner between this and the ICE will be amazing.

I love how that ramp goes through that round building.

I am guessing the road came first and the round building was constructed around it?

That seems kinda nuts to me, but then again, there are various cities have ground level streets that effectively tunnel through buildings, so I guess it's not so weird. It just looks very Speed Racer to me.

Imagine driving through that building... amazing. I must say I often go out of my way to drive on the gardiner simply because I love driving through the buildings. Its awesome. I am not opposed to the east gardiner being taken down but I would be very sad the see the west portion go. Makes driving fun.
I really hope this picks up its pace soon.
