As someone who will be living here I will say, please not Ikea.

I want something I can use day to day.

walmart, Cdn Tire, some department store, grocery store, etc...

Not really... Canadian Tire stores are independently owned and operated ;)

It would meet his criteria if one were to open.
There are too many Canadian Tire stores downtown already, and I don't enjoy their shopping experience. I'd prefer something we don't have downtown yet (I.e. Walmart or Costco).

So you hate Canadian Tire's shopping experience but want a Walmart?

Isn't Lowes expanding? The location could be good for them.

Yep, I've found Walmart's shopping experience far superior to Canadian Tire. There are times I have been in Canadian Tire where the store is empty, I can't find what I'm looking for, and there isn't a single person on the floor to help me. Also, Walmart has a much larger variety of products than Canadian Tire does.

That's great news for London and makes a lot of sense.

Within 50 km of London live 600,000 people and it is the shopping centre of SW Ontario.

Taken yesterday on my cell.

They've picked up some mighty fine glass for this one. It looks great from just about every angle.

It's surely not bad but we're still nowhere near where other cities are. The stuff on London's Leadenhall Building comes immediately to mind as some of the finest I've ever seen. Unbelievably clear and almost completely free of wave-forming impurities:

Today: Cell phone shot of south side of podium.

Stone looks really nice up close. Marble I think.
