TREES!

I often wonder why such important east west avenuse like Richmond and Adelaide are NOT lovely tree lined boulevards. Sometimes they are soulless and in dire need of "softening" up. Imagine Richmond and Adelaide in Paris or London...unthinkable.

it's not rocket science to have lovely tree lined boulevards...yet Toronto rarely grasps th advantages of tree lined major arteries... which is a shame

Realize that only in the past ten years or so have Richmond and Adelaide become residential streets. Prior to that they functioned almost exclusively as traffic funnels and delivery routes for the warehouses and light industry that used to populate the area.

Of course, for most of the year, this block will be in the shadows for most of the day ;)

That's another big plus: getting shade from the elements. Toronto doesn't have enough streets like that, but it's getting better all the time.

View from Richmond street - cladding of podium almost done at Studio, looking a little...industrial?

Appropriate updating of the warehouse vernacular then?
