Toronto St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

After this is done, will they be developing the St. Lawrence Market South building on The Esplanade and Lower Jarvis? Would love to see a permanent structure similar to this built in its place.
No, the tent is a temporary structure which was put on what has been a Green P parking lot to accommodate the North Market tenants while the new North Market is being built. The current plans are for the space to be incorporated into the upgrade to David Crombie Park which is planned for 2023-24.

According to the City budget documents: "Project schedule and budget has been re-baselined based on the latest approvals from Council in May 2019. COVID-19 caused reduced productivity levels due to additional safety procedures and the lack of labour force availability. The overall project delay is currently tracking at approximately 11 months including COVID-19 impacts. The contractor is currently reviewing work phasing and sequencing options to make up lost time. The project is now expected to be complete by Q4 2022 within the current Council approved budget." See: https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2022/bu/bgrd/backgroundfile-175004.pdf I have heard a spring 2023 re-opening but we shall see. They ARE moving on quite fast now and the Market part of the building has less finishing than the upper floors (Court Services) so may open earlier.
