Those boulders definitely say don't drive your heavy equipment any closer to the edge of this earthen ramp. Always good to have a few boulders lying around.

Has anyone heard a realistic guess as to occupancy date? The excavation is well underway and the people at the construction website haven't responded. I asked late last year when they first started and they thought it would be late 2020

I'm confused about the staging platform at the east end. It is not dug deep there like the rest of the site and the floor seems to be poured. Is that wastes space under the platform? And if so, why?

@harry_fine, the columns go deep into the ground, as far as the excavation will. They can continue to excavate below the deck, and no space all be wasted!

Yes, but why build the platform at all? Though they seem to be putting some equipment on top of it would it not have been easier/cheaper just to excavate the whole pit (as is usually done) and THEN start adding floors.? I realise the site has very little spare room but ….

It fills the need of a costly lane closure. Deliveries can use the platform instead of blocking the road. Concrete trucks generally don't drive into deep pits

Info from the Project website:

Starting next week, September 10 – 14, the installation of overheard protection around the rest of the site will get underway. It is expected this will take 4 to 5 days to complete. If the weather cooperates, the hoardings and overhead protection may be completed by Friday, September 14. If there is a weather delay, this work may stretch into the following week. We will provide updates as the work gets underway.

The installation of the first of two cranes on the site is scheduled for Thursday, September 20. The second crane installation is scheduled for mid October, approximately.

Footings for lowest level, what will be the P3 level, will begin in late September. Forming the lowest level concrete is expected to get underway in early October. We note though that excavation work will likely continue into November.
