still feel soo sorry for the condos right behind it- can you imagine having this blocking your only view when it rises up.
too cramped- and not to mention the obvious- property value diminished.
 
Views are such an insignificant contributor to market value (in most cases) that I wouldn't be all that concerned. Plus, that's life in the big city. People who live in condos that aren't adjacent and facing the lake or a park, are eventually likely to have their views compromised.

Oh, no, I don't think so--anyone living here who has an IQ above room temperature must have figured that this lot was going to go eventually. That doesn't mean it's not too bad for them, but I'm not sure that they can claim to be surprised and, at that, particularly disgruntled.

Based on the comments made at the community meeting, there was a greater concern about facing distances between the buildings. Queen Street has building restrictions courtesy of the HCD status, and this lot was not included. So yes, some people had an expectation based on that study.
