Toronto Ryerson Student Learning Centre | 50.59m | 8s | Ryerson University | Zeidler

This building has the architectural flair of a landmark but the streetscape manners of the best infill buildings. It has bold angles and singular cladding yet also boasts suave storefronts and common spaces. It's outstanding. Three cheers for Ryerson..

I'm familiar with the Simpsons. Not old enough to be unfamiliar with it, but young enough that shows like Family Guy came along and stole its thunder for me. (These days I'd say both shows suck.) In fairness, a little bit of context always helps when quoting something, i.e. a YouTube link.

Coming down Yonge from the north, the choice to split the elevator core diagonally in two seems like a mistake. The rest however, is quite excellent.

Yes, the blue soffits have a reflectivity to them.

Which panels are you referring to that you don't think are metallic? The white cladding? The blue soffits? They are both coated metal.

The blue soffit is not remotely as reflective/metallic in appearance as it was depicted in renderings of the project, but it'll do the trick. I was disappointed initially but it's still a much more interesting cladding than most projects use and the colour is very Ryerson appropriate! :)
