thanks for that... though I almost felt sick by the end of it. It was like bad porn. Could the exterior cladding of this thing look any more mundane? Lets hope the peaked roof saves it.

Yet again, another fabulous shot capturing SO many projects in 1 :D!

The Ritz looks sleek as ever!.. the slanted part of the slant should be visible soon now that they've been working for a while now!

Ice should be spectacular from this angle!

Festival looks chunky :p

Nice work urbandreamer! :)

Much appreciated :)!

I agree that the cladding is somewhat mundane, at least the building is tall...

For 1.5mil - 9mil I would expect something more 'grand'.

Well I wouldn't buy downtown anyway so my wife and I are simply looking forward to the hotel and spa... can't wait to get my pedicure for $100 :D :p

That's where the interior finishes and amenities come in. ;)

In terms of the architecture itself, anything too "grand" risks coming off as rather gaudy. I think they did a phenomenal job with this building; it is respectful to context and exudes a sophisticated elegance in its simplicity. It's certainly something that the generally older affluents who bought into this building - many of which have no desire to flaunt their wealth - would appreciate.

I honestly believe Canada lucked out when considering all the other Ritz-Carlton hotel/condominium developments around the globe, the majority of which are completely lackluster. The Montreal project is definitely my favourite.

Up close, you can tell the quality of the cladding, compared to the average condo being built in this city at this time.

Keep in mind that the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Montreal is no longer governed or owned by the "Ritz-Carlton" international chain. "Ritz-Carlton" sold the Montreal location after discovering the huge costs involved to renovate the aging structure. You will notice that if you visit the Montreal location and see none of the traditional "Ritz-Carlton" trademarks/lion, etc.

"On December 15, 2006, The Ritz Carlton Montreal was sold to a group of private investors. Since 2007, the Ritz-Carlton Montreal has been owned by a consortium comprising Mirelis Financial Group, Torriani Group and Rolaco Group. It is managed by Torriani Luxury Hotel Management Canada, a subsidiary of Monaco Luxury Hotels and Resorts. Following its transformation, the Ritz-Carlton Montreal will have 130 rooms and suites, 35 condo-residences and 15 condo-suites."
