Location
Oakville
A new proposed development for a 6 storey, 190 affordable rental unit (of which 30% will be fully accessible) building in Oakville, located at 1493 Sixth Line. Architect is pml.A, and developer is Innovative SHS (https://ishs.ca/). This developer seems to be a new one (?), but the CEO is on the board of directors for Home Sweet Hope, a local charity organization. It also says that the company will be partering with local nonprofits to deliver the affordable units. There will be a daycare on the ground floor of the building as well.

Development application can be found here.

As for my personal note - no way this is getting built in its current form. Not only are residents in this part of Oakville particularly allergic to the concept of low rent housing, this building is what I would call abruptly adjacent to an elementary school, shrouding an entire side of it in shade for most of the school day, most of the year. The location is amazing though, close to many schools including Sheridan's main campus, transit, parks, even has a small retail plaza across the street.

edit: also note there is another (almost identical) development literally down the street that was proposed as a 6-storey building but approved as 4-storey townhomes

They should be flipping the site plan to have the building on the south side to minimize shadow impact.
I was thinking the same, it's not immediately adjacent to homes either and it's the side the shadow doesn't impact, but I'm assuming there's setback/taper laws from single family homes that prevent it
