Delivery of missing / make-up pieces of glazing and cladding has been received and is stored at the north end of the new building - arrived several days ago, but as can be seen in the photo taken late yesterday (Thursday, August 29), still not installed.

Great News - Portland Commons has its first tenant - said somewhat tongue in cheek, Indigo has been retained as the parking lot operator. The parking garage is now open for public use, and areas of the ground floor are now open to the public, with only portions of the ground floor still inaccessible as construction zone hard hat areas. The 'front desk' is now staffed with concierge / security, at this point primarily for patrons entering and exiting the parking garage.

Three overview photos, and then some more detailed pictures. The sidewalk and walkway areas are looking good, with some benches now installed. No visible progress on installation of the missing / broken cladding and glazing sections yet. One solitary window washer can be seen at the north-west corner of the building in the photo immediately below.

September 18 - Mobile crane at Portland Commons today - but the lifts were for the preexisting heritage building at 510 Front Street West, to the east side of the new tower.

October 15: Repairing the Portland Commons building envelope deficiencies appears to be going very slowly. A lot of repair and/or replacement material are still staged in the open area between the new and the older legacy Wellington Street building. Remediation activities have been occurring, but on what appears to be a very fitful basis. One example - a crew was working on the Front Street facade on Saturday, October 5, but not seen again during the following week (not to say they absolutely did not come back, but I did not see them when I was by).

Between this and The Well's office tower, there's tons of vacant office space in that area. I wonder if the developers will cave in or they're sticking to their asking rent and leave the space vacant for years.

November 18 - another five weeks, and repair and replacement of the damaged and missing cladding and glazing at Portland Commons continues its slow progress. Only a small number of visible items left to be fixed. Hopefully the on site set of components in the courtyard between the legacy and new buildings will complete the job.
