Continuing the coverage of Kitchener (and region) midrises.

Ophelia is a midrise rental apartment that is under construction by Vive Development. Its is located pretty centrally in the city (address at 242 Queen St S) in amongst a large residential midrise neighborhood.

In the front two houses are being preserved while the building goes up immediately behind them.

Took this photo a couple weeks back, but the progress is about the same with an additional floor or so. The project is the one helmed by the black crane. The yellow crane is for another much smaller Vive Developments project.

Taken this morning, glass is in. Pretty nice reflective full sized panels.

Bonus shot from up the hill of the city, the little alleyways in this area are rather interesting, or at least new to me. Station Park is poking out now on the left.

A few cranes came down this week, including this one, photo included. Hard to get a shot of this one as it's nestled behind the protected houses.

I'm a [Cambridge demonym] and this is a Google Maps streetview shot from Oct. 2023, but it's better than nothing. I kinda love it. Colours on the bottom seem a smidge out of place, but overall looks pretty spectacular compared to a lot of other recent downtown Kitchener projects.

Across the pond they are known as Cantabrigians, and not to disparage the locals, but that seems a tad too highfalutin MA in Latin to be appropriate for the banks of the Grand or the Speed!
