I was keen on the idea brought forward years ago with a massive indoor water park. Lazy river, wave pools, zany water slides.... maybe a fake beach.

Surround it with shops, hotels and some condos and possibly expand the current park a bit. Add that to the already existing convention centre, medieval times, music venues, BMO field etc. And you have a destination neighbourhood!

You could even build a new stadium for the Jays! ;)

If this were anyone else but Doug, I'd be glad because let's face it, the Liberal plan was frustratingly unambitious and unimaginative.

But since it's Doug, I have zero confidence we'll get something the site deserves.
All the Liberals did was some nice landscaping! Most weekdays, there is nothing there to do. An international design competition sounds good but I don't trust Ford to do the right thing. Ford might put in a casino, condos and a suburban style shopping mall, which for me, would be unacceptable! I want the original idea of Ontario Place back. Bring back the water slides!

This is a fantastic idea, something akin to what West Edmonton Mall has. It would be great to have easy, convenient access to a "summer" destination throughout our depressing, dreary winter months without having to endure the expense and time necessary for traveling abroad. Who wouldn't love that?
