August 24: North side of King Street - all ten roof trusses are now in place, with a number of cross-ties made between the trusses. No sign of any crane specific support structure in the roof yet. Saturday morning work on the structure ongoing.
South Side of King Street: Crane base being installed. The sequence of activities for the installation is a bit different from most sites - the footing for the crane base was done, the base section was installed at some point over the past few days (we were away, arriving back on Friday evening, and the base section was in place), and now a large concrete pour to complete the rest of the crane base structure is taking place.
New 'permanent' for the construction process gates on Portland Street side.
More site preparation work on the King Street side:
September 4 - Setting up for appearance by the Minister of Transportation this morning. Bomb sniffer dog was doing its rounds of the site.
The only information I could find about the Minister's calendar was from the Provincial Government Press Office:
Prabmeet Sarkaria, Minister of Transportation, will be joined by Kinga Surma, Minister of Infrastructure, to provide remarks and hold a media availability.
