Is Apple officially out of the ground retail space?
I'd be surprised if they aren't in this space when the building is complete. I think the uncertainty in ownership and delays has kept Apple from being open about staying there. And they most likely have stronger non-disclosure agreements to keep things quiet.

I've said it here before, but this was a location Apple wanted and had a part in designing. On the flip side, it's a location that's gonna be harder to find another tenant for, especially with the changing demographics in the neighbourhood and luxury slowly seeking greener pastures at Yorkdale. They'd be stupid not to know the ball is in their court, and can get a much better deal on the whole thing. The trick is avoiding all the interim kerfuffle to come out the other side.

Where is this RAMSA talk coming from? You seem to be the only person mentioning the fact he initially wanted to go with them instead of Foster.
He mentions it in a promotional video (circa 2018 I believe)
Taste is subjective, but if someone claims this tower is uglier than Social and 365 Church, I’d suggest they go for a cornea transplant …
I think beauty is objective to an extent, and 365 Church is proof of this.

Why another American company? I hope a Canadian company takes over the space.

The space was designed specifically for Apple, and while Apple is obviously pissed about the delays, and the developers would love to find someone willing to pay more than Apple, it seems almost certain that of all the companies out there who are potential lessors of this space, Apple is the one willing to pay the most, and the two parties will eventually land on the right price. Unless Apple has somehow decided that they don't, after all, want a perfectly designed flagship store in Toronto (and if they wanted one somewhere other than here, it is probably in the works already), Apple will take that space when it's ready.

We keep on speculating here... do you guys have info on Apple's retail strategy? Do you know if they still want a massive retail presence at Yonge & Bloor?
The answer is: no, you don't know.
Just because the space was originally designed for them doesn't mean Apple will be moving in once it's done.

Has anyone else been announced as moving in there?

It has really high ceilings so whomever moves in could take advantage of that - Kites? Circus paraphernalia? 🎪 😂

No. But that doesn't mean Apple is moving in after they cancelled their deal
Do you know a new deal has not been signed with Apple? Has anyone signalled the site is empty? This "close" to top off, I'd expect the wheels to be in motion already if someone had signed on and very few companies are as secretive as Apple when it comes to stuff like this.
