It's just a poor design functionally and aesthetically. I wouldn't be surprised down the road if the board/owners end up renovating it, sort of like what happened with Thompson Hotel.

My initial point was regarding the amount of space in the elevator corridor. No amount of renovations is going to make that corridor any wider. Perhaps they were trying to replicate the feel of waiting on the southbound platform at 8:30 on Line 1 :) I wouldn't want to live in this building because of this narrow corridor.

Some photos of the interior amenities.

It's comical how far away the amenities are from being completed. It's ridiculous. This is class action lawsuit territory.

Some forum members think it’s quite acceptable that it has taken this long and yet it is still under construction.
After all, we are not constructing the Taj Mahal. Great Gulf should stick to mid range buildings.

Really? I thought it was commonplace. The Liberties, 1988, I think it took six months before the amenities were ready.

Do they?

Occupancy in this building started in November of 2016; I hope they will finish this at some point. I believe Great Gulf takes on more that they can deal with, just too many projects.

It is a shame hearing all the issues at 1 Bloor, I had a great experience moving into X pre-construction but I'm starting to question if I'd ever invest with them again. Waiting over a year for the amenities.. On a mid-level floor at X, the condo was registered and the amenities were open a month after I moved in.

I think GG is still a reputable builder thru just never had much experience with these kinds of projects before. Mistakes are expected when you’re in new territory but they need to learn from them. As someone else pointed out they have a lot of projects on the go but that’s not an excuse. If they’re doing the Mirvish site then prepare to wait for a long time.
