Can confirm (with evidence!) that they are working on the 2nd floor of the western portion
now
I absolutely hate these long retail "deserts" along main streets. Such stupid past city planning.Looking forward to having retail on this stretch of Eglinton.
I expect it to be similar to the retail on Scarlett just south of Eglinton (hopefully better though).
What's with the sign saying "Save Buttonwood Park"? What's happening? Is it related to this development? I thought they were adding a park.

Nope, just some racist, NIMBY, garbage. It did pass though, BTW: https://secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda-item.do?item=2024.EX13.4Not related. See below. Very sensitive issue in the neighbourhood.

The neighbourhood streets are filled with these signs.
Just to add: the community centre (specifically in reference to the land lease for the Somali Centre) will be reconsidered on October 1st by the Exec. P.S. And yes, it is very much racist, the community to the south is the richest neighbourhood in Etobicoke and is VERY white. And even the argument about destroying the green space is weak as for the many times I've walked through the park, I have rarely seen anyone in the large open field that the community centre will be on.
