Before it's gone forever once the building rises above-grade, note the ghost of the original 1905 banking hall on the rear façade of the heritage bank (the skylight and vault were removed in the 1950's) as can be seen on one of the original Darling & Pearson drawings:

Every time I see pictures of the site, I'm just amazed at how small it is—it's really quite remarkable what they're able to do here. Also sort of makes one think that just a smidgen of engineering prowess applied across the city could reduce the number and size of site intrusions into vehicular and bike lanes and sidewalks.

I dont know about that... the logistics of this site are quite unique allowing them to enter off Victoria St via an existing alleyway.

By the end of the month, by my thumb rule, building officially at grade. Number of shots this day was less than the past and will be almost next to none in the coming weeks until its above the existing buildings around it. More up on site
