It's unbelievable, for over 30 years Canadian clubs have not won the Stanley Cup.
The same amount of time that Bettman has been commissioner.

I have a soft spot for the Jets, but their best chance was from a few seasons ago. I'd say the Oilers are currently the biggest disappointments along with the Leafs.

Out of 32 teams, only 7 are Canadian so that really dilutes their chances of winning. People forget that way back when the Leafs frequently won the SC that there were only 6 teams...

All other things being equal, 7 Canadian Teams out of 32 should win the cup 21.87% of the time or slightly more than once every 5 years.
Each individual team in the league, should win the cup, on average 3.1% of the time or about once every 32 years.
If we start the clock in the 94-95 season (after Montreal won the cup, the last Canadian team to have done so) that's 29 years w/o a Canadian team winning.
There were fewer than 32 teams though much of that period.....but ignoring that, statistically, we should have had at least 4 (5 if you round up) Canadian cup winners.
